Based on your medical needs, personal interests, goals, and other important parts of your life, we will partner you with the provider that is perfect for you.

2. Have your comprehensive first appointment

You and your doctor will connect over two-way video chat for about an hour. You’ll really get to know each other and together, develop a plan to monitor and manage your health.

3. A real relationship with your doctor, available anytime

Call, text, or video chat your doctor anytime. Every conversation continues where you left off. Your doctor knows you, is always at hand, and is part of your life.

• How does the Membership and Cancellation work?

OIH DIrectCare is $99 to $169 per month for a twelve month membership. There are no additional fees or co-pays.
There is no risk and no long-term commitment required to get started. You may cancel anytime within the first month and you will only be billed for that one month.
This gives you the opportunity to have your first appointment with your OIH DirectCare doctor, get comfortable with them, and ensure that they are a good fit for you.

• Why an Annual Membership?

The OIH Direct Care Annual Membership allows our doctors to serve a limited number of patients and have significantly more time to dedicate to each patient. Our doctors have more time to think about and develop a personal relationship with you.

• If I have Health Insurance, do I still need to pay for the membership fee?

Yes. The OIH DirectCare membership fee enables us to provide a level of personalized service (via our doctors and technology) that is not typically reimbursed by most insurers.

• Can I use my HSA, FSA, MSA, or HRA to pay the membership fee?

Yes. In most cases, the fee can be reimbursed by health savings accounts (HSA’s), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), medical savings accounts (MSAs), and health reimbursement accounts (HRAs).
If requested by your benefits administrator, we will provide you with a Statement of Services.
Please note that the fee cannot be paid using your HSA, FSA, MSA, or HRA debit or credit card. You will have to manually submit your claim.

• Does this replace my Health Insurance?

You should keep your health insurance so that you are covered in case of a medical emergency.
Also, your OIH DirectCare doctor may refer you to a local lab or local specialist when needed. You would want to run those visits through your health insurance. We will help you find providers who take your insurance.
If you don’t have insurance, we can help you get a discounted cash price on prescriptions, bloodwork, and labs.
Some of our patients save money by downgrading their health insurance plan (e.g. from a Gold Plan to a Silver Plan) or by participating in a Medical Cost Sharing program.

• What about Prescriptions, Labs, and Specialists Visits?

When your OIH DirectCare doctor prescribes medications, refers you to a local lab, or refers you to a specialist near you, we will help you find the best available price and provider. We can help you decide whether or not to pay directly or run these through your insurance.
Some specialist visits can be handled completely online and at no cost to you. Your OIH DirectCare doctor has access to a team of specialists that they can consult with anytime when needed.

• What level of care is provided for my children?

As part of the Family Plan, your same trusted OIH DirectCare doctor is available to care for your children. Text, phone, and video chat about your kids when life demands it.
When possible, skip the hassle of visiting the pediatrician. Get the advice and guidance you need, quickly and conveniently.
Within your secure OIH DirectCare Chat, you will have a dedicated channel for each of your kids.  You will control all communication.
Please note that this care is a supplement to your child’s in-person pediatrician, and not a replacement.  Your OIH DirectCare doctor will not be prescribing medications or ordering labs for your children.
Later, If needed, your older kids (ages 14 and up) can upgrade and get their very own OIH DirectCare membership (at a special discount).  When they do, all of their communications will be kept private between them and their OIH DirectCare doctor.

• Can I add children to my individual plan?

Yes. After you become a member, just let us know and we’ll set that up for you.
$29 per month adds care for all of your children.
